Photo-a-Day Halloween Special

I probably should have gone and bought a pumpkin.... I normally do, I did an Iron Maiden Eddie pumpkin last year... I'll take another pic later should I decide to go get one... Tia hates to be left out of Halloween (honest!)... so here she is in all her halloween finery.... I can't believe she just lay there and let me put this on her.. AND take a picture!  Normally she sees the camera come out and she gives me a filthy look and scarpers!   Maybe I should after all take her trick or treating!!!!!

Sunday's rule was to take a photo of a door.... well I don't really have any interesting doors, so I took a photo of my wardrobe door (which is now in my spare room as no room for it in my room).  Had this wardrobe for years, its antique but gradually falling to bits due to all my house moves.  The tail I've had since I was 16, my boyfriend at the time gave it me.. no idea why... it has lived on my wardrobe door since that day!

Today's rule is Horizon... I walked the road way round to the fields this morning so that it would be light enought to take a piccy of the horizon by the time I got to the fields.. It was v foggy but luckily it lifted a little and I was able to grab a pic.

I guess today is going to be the last day for a while when I can get away with taking my photo a day on my early morning dog walks.. must find my blooming torch and Tia's twinklies ready for  next week

A photo of your favourite smell.... I actually love the smell of freshly cut grass... but its raining.. I'm not about to go out and mow the lawn for a photo opportunity!!  So a different sort of smell that I love is my favourite perfume - Angel by Thierry Mugler.... I have worn this perfume exclusively now for years... it is only this year that I tried Womanity by Thierry Mugler and liked it, so I now very occasionally wear this one instead.  Until this year though I used to go through between 3-5 bottles a year....Angel is addictive, I really couldn't, until Womanity wear anything else!

A photo of your five things that you would take to a desert island... couldn't get all of these on one photo... not without seriously pissing Tia off anyway.. and she doesn't look too impressed having the camera stuck in her face again!!

Like I was ever gonna leave her behind!

I've counted this as one item..because its my rules and my desert island, I would also be taking a solar powered charger!

Decided it would be easier to buy a kindle then expect Amazon to deliver to my remote island on a monthly basis!

My bow and arrows....obviously I'd have to kill my own food... I'm sure at some point I'd get the knack of hitting it!  I'd invest in arrow making equipment too, so I can replace all the broken/lost ones!

This is not because I'm sad.. it would be turned off (no point having my beautiful deserted island if people can still ring me!).... but I may need it for my own personal delivery service that would replace books should I break my kindle, supply me with food should I not actually manage to kill anything etc

A photo that represents your favourite movie... technically its very hard for me to choose my fave movie between, True Romance, Leon & Pulp Fiction..... I went with Pulp Fiction as I was able to think of something to take for the photo.... dug out my extremely old and buried bible (given to me as a christening gift apparently... before anyone knew I'd develop into an atheist.... haha I could have made another connection here to pulp fiction but I will be a good girl!) and finally managed to find Ezekial 25.17..... which bares a vague resemblance to the Tarantino version in the movie... personally I prefer the Tarantino version!

 The photo below isn't related to fave song at all, on way back to car this little guy was spying on me, so I took a photo, he lives in the house I want, the neighbour is Tutbury castle.., it has beautiful walled in garden... its also£1.1M so a girl can but dream!!!

I'm a day behind on all my blogging.. still!  So today's rule was to take a photo that represents your favourite band... so I was going to take a photo of an ironing maiden... due to not owning an iron (at the moment, not permanently!), I thought I'd go visit mum and take a photo of her ironing.. well I went to visit mum last night but forgot to take a camera with me!  So.... I thought okay well Eddie represents Iron Maiden better than anything.. and conveniently Eddie appears on all my Iron Maiden tshirts.... so here he is.. complete with creases!!!

P-Pet peeves: Okay this could be a long one... I hate Reality TV - I don't do Big Bro, X Factor or I'm a Celebrity... I can't understand why anyone would watch them to be honest!  Having said that I do like Strictly.. but only because of the dresses.. the fact I don't know who half of the "celebrities" are usually winds me up!  I hate animal cruelty, racism & the excessive use of fireworks (one night a year I can live with.. three months of I can't!).  People not cleaning up after their dogs also does my head in!  I hate the neediness of people.. yes I can be a bit anti-social, I'm perfectly okay with my own company and I hate it when you sit in a cafe, park up somewhere for lunch, whatever and someone has to sit down right next to you, park next to you etc.. if there are plenty of other places to be why do these people have to choose to be near me!

T-Time you wake up: I wake up naturally (I don't have an alarm clock) around 5.30am... I usually try and go back to sleep.. I never ever succeed, so not sure why I actually bother.. and then usually give up between 6 & 7 and get up dependent on whether its a weekend or not.  On the weekend I like to torture myself by trying to go back to sleep for a bit longer.. still always to no avail!

 

U-Underwear: Not sure what the question means.. yes I wear it... generally its black and always a g-string.... proper pants are damn uncomfortable!

 

V-Vegetable you hate: Think I eat all vegetables.. if I had to choose my least favourite it would be chunky carrots... thinly sliced are okay and I love them mashed with swede!

W-What makes you run late: I pretty much can't be late to save my life.. I'm always annoyingly early.. however when I used to travel the country to get to appointments, I was occasionally late due to ridiculous motorway hold ups.... but even then I'd have usually allowed an extra hour at least for any journey, so lateness was still very rare!

 

X-X rays you’ve had: Legs and ankles.. I'm ridiculously good at twisting my ankles.. never broken anything though, however I have now torn the ligaments in my ankles so often that I'm surprised I can stand up at all!

Y-Yummy food that you make: Everything I make is yummy.. I'm a good cook.... Tia would obviously say that my Rye & Banana Dog Treats are heavenly.... but when cooking for humans, I think the thing that gets the most praise is my Sri Lankan Chicken Curry... I grind and blend all the spices myself and it is bloody gorgeous... if I do say so myself!

 

Z-Zoo animal: Tiger I think.... they are so gorgeous, I just want to give them a big cuddle... I think this is probably ill advised.. they may look all cute and snuggly... but their teeth are a bit huge!

The rule today is Diamonds.... well I only have one ring with diamonds in it, it was my grandma's engagement ring.. and I used it as my engagement ring too..... haha least that meant I didn't need to throw it back at him when we split up :)

Favourite Drink....... WINE!  But from a different angle!  Generally I like red or white, not particularly fussy on colour.. but I don't like cheap crap!... a nice Rioja tends to be favourite... if I'm out in a bar though its generally dry white with soda :)

Stones/Rocks/Pebbles - I would have taken a photo of pebbles by the river on this morning's walkies.. but it was barely light and pouring... the gravel in my driveway is v bland & boring, so I thought I'd take a photo of a rock... but it is a rock with a fossil in it!

I've had this rock for getting on for 20 years I reckon (shame its a bit smashed now), we were on holiday as kids in Somerset and had gone for a long walk along the beach in the rain... when we had walked probably 3 miles we came upon a cliff and there were lots of rocks with fossils on them, me and my sister took off our raincoats and wrapped the fossils up in them and then struggled all the way back to the caravan with them.. drenched - I think we wrapped them up in our coats as we thought we may get in trouble for taking them off the beach.. we could hardly disguise the fact we had them though as we could barely walk upright... they were a bit heavy!

Today's rule is Obsession... I couldn't make my mind up what I was obsessed by... I mean if Jake Gyllenhaal lived down the road it would be easy... I'd be constantly walking passed his house trying to bump into him.... or is that stalking rather than obsession ;)

So anyway I have picked two things I can't live without - music & books.... I am obsessed by both at different times, I very rarely read whilst listening to music as I am not then giving the music full attention.. music is for when I'm driving, doing chores, cooking, sunbathing, working etc... and reading is for when I'm not doing any of those things!

So my photos are of my ipod, which has over 7000 songs on it and one of my bookshelves - all bookshelves are full, I have books all over the place really, one of my kitchen cupboards has been taken over by cookbooks (can never have too many!)

I pretty much hate going shopping... but stick me in a book shop and I could happily stay there all day... and Amazon is almost lethal!

Contents of handbag.... now in any of my old handbags which were the size of small suitcases, I would have had a lot more crap ... I mean, important everyday essential items stored away in them.... but my current handbag isn't exactly huge... so its remarkably empty!  (After I took the pic I realised I'd forgotten to take out the two lipsticks and my driving licence from the front pocket)

The handbag is a Christmas present (2011!) from my sister, she knew I desperately wanted a Joey-D handbag... she also knew that in true me fashion I'd just go ahead and buy one if I spotted one in any shops... so when she saw one when out shopping she decided to buy it for me..... but then she thought she better not wait until Xmas 2011 to give it to me or I'd end up buying one myself!

Feathered Friends - my first attempt at pictures of swans failed this morning, as Tia got impatient standing still and ran into the river and chased them away!!!  So I took a quick shot of some very noisy gulls... but then on the way back down the river I came upon the swans again so took a couple of them too - deeper water means Tia won't chase them, she doesn't like to swim, just paddle!
